Pulp Fiction (Unsigned) is one of Banksy’s most iconic early works, first released in 2004 through Pictures on Walls (POW). The artwork parodies the famous scene from Quentin Tarantino’s cult film Pulp Fiction, depicting characters Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega (played by Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta) standing side by side, aiming their guns — except Banksy replaces the weapons with bright yellow bananas.

Executed in high-contrast black and white, with the bananas in vivid yellow, the piece showcases Banksy's signature blend of humour, pop culture reference, and subversive commentary. By disarming these notorious characters with something as absurd and harmless as fruit, Banksy both critiques Hollywood’s glamorization of violence and undermines the macho narrative of the film.

The print captures the rebellious and anti-establishment spirit that defined Banksy’s early career, and quickly became a fan favourite — even spawning a mural version outside a London cinema (later removed by Transport for London).
